Test of new bid logs at Pricebenders

SFI News

PricebendersLogoStarting today, we are testing an alternate bid log system at Pricebenders.  We will be using the same alias-style bid logs announced here on April 15, but now you can now see everyone’s real name after ten bids.  That is, once you’ve bid ten times at any auction, the aliases will automatically disappear and you’ll see the real names of all bidders.

We feel this new system still eliminates the vast majority of the intimidation tactics the original change was designed to address, while providing more transparency that many of our auction bidders want.

Note: Once an auction ends, a list of every bidder–with both their real name and their temporary* alias–is provided on the Latest Winners page (click “Bidders” link).

* A new alias is assigned for each auction you participate in.
